Julie Salazar, CVT, VTS-ECC

Julie Salazar been working as a veterinary technician since 1998. She received her Veterinary Technology degree and her Certified Veterinary Technician license in 2003 from Becker College. She began working in an emergency critical care facility where she focused on perfecting her critical care nursing skills, and became passionate about the field of emergency and critical care. She began working full time at New England Animal Medical Center in 2005 and obtained her Veterinary Technician Specialist credential in emergency and critical care medicine in 2009.

After relocating to northern Massachusetts Julie took on the role of technician supervisor of the emergency critical care department at a 24-hour emergency and referral hospital on the north shore. She was instrumental in supervising and training the Veterinary Assistants and Technicians in the ECC department at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital.

In November 2020, Julie returned full-time to New England Animal Medical Center and accepted the newly created position of Veterinary Technician Manager. She is responsible for developing new scheduling protocols and helping to onboard a new training program along with hiring new staff for the hospital.

Julie has also lectured at the Massachusetts Veterinary Technician Symposium, and at the New England Veterinary Medical Association, and the IVG technician symposiums

.In her spare time Julie loves to spend time outdoors hiking with her 2 amazing Australian Shepherds Ace and Fawkes, and loves to spend time at the barn horseback riding, and building amazing houses and fun activities for her 2 guinea pigs Fruit and Loops!

Julie is Fear Free Certified.
