About our Lab Technicians
Kathy Johnson has a BS degree in Biology from Framingham State
We have 3 laboratory technicians who work in alternating shifts to cover the majority of the day and evening hours.   All of our lab technicians are highly trained and meticulous in their work and have taken additional training in microbiology techniques to allow us to grow bacterial & fungal cultures in-house .
  Advantages of an In-house Lab

STAT results- results within minutes if needed (cultures excluded- these grow over several days)
Quality control- test fresh samples, re-run questionable tests or new samples to check accuracy
Less contamination problems- culture directly without using transport media
  In-house Test Capabilities

CBC Bacterial cultures with identification & antibiotic sensitivity testing
Complete blood chemistry profiling Fungal culture
Blood gas analysis Antifreeze (ethylene glycol) test
Blood type with major & minor cross match ability Thyroid (T4) test
FeLV / FIV Cite combo test Ammonia (NH4)
Heartworm / Ehrlichia / LYME Cite test Calcium ionized
Feline heartworm antibody test Bile Acids
Although we have no intentions of becoming or replacing your commercial lab, we would like to extend our lab services  to referring veterinarians who are in need of an urgent test result STAT.
