Animal Holistic Health Center
| Dear Colleague, we
look forward to working in partnership with you to provide the most complete
veterinary care available for your clients and patients. We encourage you to
call with any questions and would be happy to consult about patients you are
considering referring for acupuncture, herbal, and other holistic healing
modalities. |
| Referrals- When
referring a patient, we ask that you fax or send with the owner a copy of
the most pertinent medical records, radiographs, and other diagnostic tests
and results so that we may have a full appreciation of the patient's medical
history. Likewise, we will send a complete summary of our TCM
diagnosis & treatment regime so that your records will be complete. All
borrowed materials such as radiographs will be returned to you shortly after
the patient's initial visit. Please note that from time to time, we may
recommend to the client that certain tests or diagnostics be performed at
your clinic based on our "Eastern" diagnostic palpation examinations
performed during each visit. If you have any questions at any point, we
encourage you to call. In this way, we hope to foster a partnership in
providing complete veterinary care for patients. |
How to make a referral:
- Please fill out the referral form completely and either send it with
the owner along with a copy of the medical records, or fax prior to the
visit. [Fax (508) 583-4220, attn. holistic dept].
- We also ask clients to fill in a detailed patient history survey-
please make sure your clients are aware of this survey and have access to
a copy- either from you or they can download it from the web site.
- Have the owner call to arrange a first appointment which usually takes
around an hour of time. Appointments are scheduled Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:30pm,
& Sat 8:00am-11:30pm through the Westbridge reception desk.

| Holistic Medicine comprises all modes of therapy that fall outside
of the allopathic or "Western" medical system. Treatment modalities
practiced at our facility include acupuncture, Chinese herbal therapy, and
homeopathy/Bach Flower essence therapy. Patients are treated based on their
TCM (traditional Chinese Medicine) diagnosis which is arrived at through
detailed history taking, physical exam & palpation, and "western"
diagnostics (blood work, radiographs, ultrasound etc).
Our goal is not to replace "Western" medicine, but to combine therapy to produce the best clinical response for the
patient. |
| Indications for Acupuncture &
Complementary medicine: |
| Emergency & acute
illness- such as vomiting, diarrhea, urinary obstruction, and CPR.

treatments or patients suffering unwanted side effects from diseases, drugs or
other forms of western therapy (ie. radiation).
